Many families travel far from home and spend several weeks or months to get treatment for their serious illness or transplant – a long time to be away or divide a family. The Butterfly House provides a place for families to call home, so they can stay close by during their family member’s hospitalization.
The Butterfly House was made possible by the generosity of One Breath at a Time, Inc. donors, some of whom are recognized with plaques displayed throughout the house and some of whom prefer to remain anonymous. The house is approximately 15 minutes away from Tampa General Hospital (TGH).
This Transplant House was established to provide valuable convenience and comfort to our transplant patients and their families. So that we may continue to make this important resource available to our patients, we ask you, if you are able, to consider donating to the One Breath at a Time, Inc., a 501(c)3.
The generosity of volunteers and donors make it all possible. In return, families either stay at no cost or are asked to donate up to $50 per day. The OBAAT policy is that families are never turned away; if it’s not possible to pay, the fee is waived. Your donation will help us to provide this service for future transplant recipients and their families.
If you wish to make a donation, please visit our donate page. All gifts are tax deductible to the extent provided by law, and you can rest assured that information will not be shared and your gift will be used to help transplant recipients and their families in the future.
If you have questions about donating, please feel free to call the One Breath at a Time, Inc. at (813) 777-0331.
Thank you and enjoy your stay at the Butterfly House.
